If you prefer something different, it must be approved by me before you complete your review.<br \/>\nExamples of events that count:<br \/>\nOther band, orchestra, jazz or choir concerts at NCCU.<br \/>\nChoir concerts (ex, other college choir concerts)<br \/>\nOpera performances<br \/>\nBand Performances (ex: High School Concert Band)<br \/>\nOrchestra performances (ex. North Carolina Symphony, etc.)<br \/>\nJazz concert \u2013 Symphony Center, NCCU, Jazz Concert, (hearing your buddies play at a local restaurant does not count)<br \/>\nMusicals do count<br \/>\nThe band, orchestra and choir performances of other high schools in the area<\/p>\n<p>Examples of events that do not count:<br \/>\nCollage and other talent shows<br \/>\nDance recitals (ex. Fashion Show)<br \/>\nAnything that you are already performing in even if only for a small part<br \/>\nPerformances that are part of another function, (i.e. a performance during a church service)<\/p>\n<p>1.\tOne performance per semester is required.<br \/>\n2.\tWrite an evaluative essay that includes the following information:<br \/>\na.\tDate, time, and location of the performance.<br \/>\nb.\tWho\/what did you see?<br \/>\nc.\tWhat kind of music was performed?<br \/>\nd.\tDid the venue enhance or detract from the performance? Why?<br \/>\ne.\tDiscuss the stage presence of the performers.<br \/>\nf.\tDiscuss the musicality of the performance. (Be specific)<br \/>\ng.\tWhat is your overall impression of the performance?<br \/>\nh.\tWhat did you like or dislike about the music?<br \/>\ni.\tWould you go again?<br \/>\nThe majority of your paper should focus on the musicality of the performance\u2014be specific about the pieces, style, phrasing, intonation, etc.<br \/>\n1.\tUse appropriate, college level writing.
