This infographic must include an explanation of the philosophies underpinning the assessment<br \/>\ntools, processes, purpose, the health professionals who use them and any other considerations<br \/>\nwhen using these tools to assess the mental health of individuals seeking professional help.<br \/>\nPlease refer to the Instructions for details on how to complete this task.<br \/>\nContext<br \/>\nAssessment tools form the basis of care decisions that counselling and community service<br \/>\nprofessionals make. Although these professions will never diagnose a condition, it is important they<br \/>\nunderstand the core assessment tools used by mental health professionals (including those that are<br \/>\ndiagnostic), so they can best refer or support someone directly. This includes how and when the<br \/>\ntools are used, by whom they are used, their philosophical underpinning and their purpose.<br \/>\nIn addition, an aspect of a counsellor or community service professional\u2019s role is resource creation.<br \/>\nInformation graphics are a powerful way to educate people about otherwise complex information.<br \/>\nThis is especially useful when working with individuals from a non-English speaking background or<br \/>\nwith low literacy because they utilise visuals and are not text heavy.<br \/>\nThe purpose of this infographic is to provide clear and concise mental health assessment information<br \/>\nto health practitioners. It will act as a quick reference sheet when supporting individuals directly or<br \/>\ndetermining whom to refer individuals on to for support.<br \/>\nHCCSSD103_Assessment_1_Brief_Infographic_Module 5 Page 2 of 6<br \/>\nInstructions<br \/>\nTo complete this assessment, you are required to:<br \/>\n1. Examine the key features of the assessment tools<br \/>\na) Review the assessment tools \u2013 biopsychosocial, DSM-5, ICD-11 and PDM-2 in<br \/>\nHungerford (2020)) and the manuals) themselves.<br \/>\nb) Determine which of the diagnostic manuals you would like to compare with the<br \/>\nbiopsychosocial assessment template. (Important note: You must include a<br \/>\nbiopsychosocial assessment template.)<br \/>\nc) Referring to Hungerford (2020, the diagnostic manual and a biopsychosocial template of<br \/>\nyour choice, scrutinise each of the tools to identify:<br \/>\no Its philosophical perspectives on mental health<br \/>\no Their processes for assessing an individual\u2019s mental health<br \/>\no Any considerations when deciding on this tool of assessment over another.<br \/>\n2. Sort and synthesise the information:<br \/>\n\u25cf Sort and order this information in a logical way to create structure.<br \/>\n\u25cf Synthesise the information to fit the word count. What are the most important<br \/>\naspects to include about the tool?<br \/>\n3. Visualise your information:<br \/>\n\u25cf Find three (3) examples of visual models for inspiration to help you visualise your<br \/>\ninfographic. (Remember to include citations and references for your sources.)<br \/>\n\u25cf Sketch rough ideas for how you might visually convey the assessment information.<br \/>\n\u25cf Decide on graphics (relevant images, icons, text, charts, diagrams) that will enhance<br \/>\ninformation sharing.<br \/>\n\u25cf Once you are clear on your approach, communicate your ideas in your sketches to<br \/>\nmake your visualisation as clear as possible.<br \/>\n\u25cf Submit at least two (2) drafts and the three (3) examples of visual models as an<br \/>\nappendix.<br \/>\n4. Create your infographic (approximately 250 words)<br \/>\n\u25cf Use any method you choose to design your infographic (e.g., Canva).<br \/>\n\u25cf Output your infographic as a PDF.<br \/>\n5.
