Assessment Overview

In this assessment, you will develop a comprehensive disaster recovery plan for a specific community or healthcare setting. Assessment Instructions

Scenario: You are a community health nurse working in a regional healthcare system. Your organization has tasked you with developing a disaster recovery plan for a specific community or vulnerable population group that could be impacted by natural disasters (hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, wildfires) or man-made disasters (chemical spills, mass casualty events, bioterrorism, pandemics).

Assessment Requirements:

Part 1: Community Assessment and Risk Analysis (2-3 pages)

• Identify and describe a specific community or vulnerable population at risk
• Analyze potential disaster scenarios relevant to the community’s geographic, demographic, and socioeconomic characteristics
