\nTeam Assignment Select a group of 3 to 6 people. This will likely be the same group you work
\nwith for the term project.
\nWorking in your group, prepare a business email (see sample email format
\nbelow and in Blackboard) to me, providing information you have researched
\nregarding some of the business customs the country that you have selected.
\nThis email is to be a minimum of 500 words to a maximum of 1000 words and
\nsubmitted as an assignment in Blackboard by 1 group member with your team
\ncharter. Only 1 person is to submit the group documents. You must also create
\nand use a group forum in the class discussion board. I will monitor this for
\nengagement. When you create the forum, you must identify your group ie
\nname of country you have chosen and include all group members full names.
\nYou will continue to use only your groups thread to share information etc.
\nEach of you must submit the self & peer evaluation through the assignment in
\nBlackboard. So, 1 team charter with the group email submission done by one
\nmember in the group. One self & peer assessment per student submitted
\nindividually. As you can see from the rubric below team collaboration is a huge
\npart of this assignment.
\nEveryone in the group will receive the same mark. Exception if you don\u2019t
\nreceive a favorable peer evaluation and I see if some individuals have
\ncontributed more and if some members have added little or nothing to the
\nassignment through your group\u2019s discussion board posts and their grades will
\nreflect this.
\nYou must also submit the presentation through the assignment tool in
\nBlackboard. Only one per group. Ideally submitted by the same group member
\nwho submitted the email.
\nDetails: Every country has their own \u201ccultural\u201d rights and wrongs. As office
\nprofessionals, it is important that you recognize, accept, and behave
\nappropriately when working with individuals from different cultures. The
\npurpose of this assignment is to work as a \u201cteam\u201d to learn about the business
\ncustoms of a different country. You will then share your findings with me in the
\nform of an email (one per group) and a short video presentation.
\nIn addition to learning about different cultures, this assignment gives students
\nthe opportunity to work in a team setting. Some students HATE teamwork; I\u2019ve
\nheard this many times before. That said, as we discussed in class, teamwork is
\nessential for success in today\u2019s workplace. This is a safe place to practice and a
\ngreat opportunity to get to know your classmates. If someone isn\u2019t
\nparticipating well, reach out to THEM nicely \u2013 not to me

\n\u2022 How do people greet each other (hand shake, kiss, embrace)

\n\u2022 Anything else you deem to be interesting.

\nYour group will present the highlights of your findings in an informal 2-minute
\npresentation submitted through blackboard using the assignment #3 tab.
