Preparation.<br \/>\nYou are required to plan for and prepare to conduct two detailed designs of motorways and interchanges. This involves:<br \/>\n\u2022 Accessing the requirements for the work, including all relevant documentation and legislation and policies and procedures.<br \/>\n\u2022 Interpreting the requirements for each design based on a review of requirements and documentation.<br \/>\n\u2022 Preparing design plans, including a risk assessment.<br \/>\nComplete Section 1 of your Project Portfolio. The Project Portfolio includes separate sections for you to document your work in relation to Project 1 and Project 2. You will also use the template Detailed design of motorways and interchanges Plan template.<br \/>\n3. Detailed design.<br \/>\nYou are required to carry out the detailed design for both motorways and interchanges projects. This involves:<br \/>\n\u2022 Interpreting and analysing data as relevant to each project.<br \/>\n\u2022 Assessing design options.<br \/>\n\u2022 Develop a detailed design for each project as per the job requirements and your design plan.<br \/>\nWork on Section 2 of your Project Portfolio. The Project Portfolio includes separate sections for you to document your work in relation to Project 1 and Project 2.<br \/>\nWhen you have completed the steps above, you are to present your work in the next activity.<br \/>\nThis means developing a presentation about the designs you have prepared to your team (your assessor and fellow students). Remember that you will be presenting the designs for both projects.<br \/>\nThe purpose of your presentation will be to:<br \/>\n\u2022 Present the work you have completed for review by your team.<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide an update on the progress of the work, ensuring you advise your team of the next steps for the project.<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide clarification and advice to assist with the implementation of each design.<br \/>\n\u2022 Obtain approval for your work.<br \/>\nPrepare your presentation in a format of your choice such as PowerPoint. Use graphical representation techniques so that the information can be easily understood.<br \/>\nYour presentation will be for approximately 15 minutes and your assessor will advise you of the date and time.<br \/>\nPlease note that at the presentation you will need to show that you present information using terminology as relevant to motorways and interchanges design and using listening and questioning techniques so make sure you prepare for this as part of your presentation preparation.<br \/>\n4.
