Student engagement in the learning will also create a positive learning environment.<\/p>\n<p>Based on any three content areas, create a plan for five learning centers focused on a theme (zoo animals, farm, space, etc.) for a Pre-K to Grade 3 classroom.<\/p>\n<p>Each learning center plan will be 200-250 words and include:<\/p>\n<p>Developmentally appropriate activity that is engaging for students, promotes creativity, and is aligned with state standards.<br \/>\nDirections for the volunteers to oversee the center\u2019s activity, including guidance for enhancing student learning and well-being.<br \/>\nA list of required materials and the purpose of each.<br \/>\nAt least one center must include the use of technology to engage and support creative thinking.<br \/>\nAPA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.<br \/>\nLearning Center 1: Zoo Animals<br \/>\nActivity: Create Your Own Zoo<br \/>\nStudents will use various materials such as construction paper, glue, scissors, and markers to create their own zoo. They will have the opportunity to research and learn about different animals found in zoos and then create their own versions of these animals using the materials provided.<\/p>\n<p>Directions for volunteers:<\/p>\n<p>Encourage students to research different animals they would like to include in their zoo.<br \/>\nProvide support and guidance to students as they work on creating their animals.<br \/>\nHelp students to label their animals and the zoo with the name of the animal and where they can be found in the wild.<br \/>\nMaterials:<\/p>\n<p>Construction paper<br \/>\nGlue<br \/>\nScissors<br \/>\nMarkers<br \/>\nAnimal Fact Sheets<br \/>\nAnimal Picture books<br \/>\nLearning Center 2: Farm<br \/>\nActivity: Build a Farm<br \/>\nStudents will use various materials such as blocks, play-doh, and farm animal figurines to build their own farm. They will have the opportunity to learn about different farm animals and their characteristics.<\/p>\n<p>Directions for volunteers:<\/p>\n<p>Encourage students to research different farm animals and their characteristics<br \/>\nProvide support and guidance to students as they work on building their farm<br \/>\nHelp students to label their farm with the names of the animals and where they can be found on the farm.<br \/>\nMaterials:<\/p>\n<p>Blocks<br \/>\nPlay-doh<br \/>\nFarm animal figurines<br \/>\nFarm animal Fact Sheets<br \/>\nFarm animal Picture books<br \/>\nLearning Center 3: Space<br \/>\nActivity: Build a Rocket<br \/>\nStudents will use various materials such as cardboard, paint, markers, and other craft materials to build their own rocket. They will have the opportunity to learn about different planets, stars, and other space-related concepts.<\/p>\n<p>Directions for volunteers:<\/p>\n<p>Encourage students to research different planets and stars<br \/>\nProvide support and guidance to students as they work on building their rockets<br \/>\nHelp students to label their rockets with the name of the planet or star they are exploring<br \/>\nMaterials:<\/p>\n<p>Cardboard<br \/>\nPaint<br \/>\nMarkers<br \/>\nCraft materials<br \/>\nSpace Fact Sheets<br \/>\nSpace Picture books<br \/>\nLearning Center 4: Zoo Animals<br \/>\nActivity: Virtual Zoo<br \/>\nStudents will use a computer or tablet to explore a virtual zoo.
