The devices can be switched (ON/OFF) through Wi-Fi. Automation techniques is the most frequently spelled term in the field of electronics. The hunger for automation system brought many revolutions in the existing technologies. It’s can be used as a replacement of the existing switches in home which produces flake and also results in fire accidents in few situations. Considering the advantages of Wi-Fi an advanced automation system was developed to control the appliances in the house. Wi-Fi (Short for Wireless Fidelity) is a wireless technology that uses radio frequency to transmit data through the air. Range of Wi-Fi technology is 40-300 feet. The controlling device for the automation in the project is a Node Mcu. The data sent from device over Wi-Fi will be received by Wi-Fi module connected to Node mcu. Node mcu reads the data and decides the switching action of electrical devices connected to it through Relays. The controlling device for the automation in the project is a Node Mcu.

Motivation

With wireless networks, associating mobile devices such as Smartphones with the Blynk automation system becomes possible in Wi-fi range and at any time.

Now the age of information technology system, so we want to make those type of application.

We think future demand will increase, so we want to do this.

Objective

To Remotely control of home appliances using Blynk app.

Our project goal is to develop a home automation system that gives the user complete control over all remotely controllable aspects of home.

We want to automation system will have the ability to be controlled Arduino software from a central host PC, the Internet, and also remotely accessed via a Pocket PC with a Windows Mobile based application.

Our system Involving the operation of appliances within a household/office.

Minimize power and time wastage.

Expected Outcome

This system control light, fan ON and OFF, control door lock and unlock by using wifi.

It controlled by an android Blynk apps.

The apps connected with both wifi and the Arduino software.

Report Layout

Chapter 1: Introduction

In this chapter we have talked about the motivation of our project, objectives, implementation and expected outcome of this project.

Chapter 2: Background

In this chapter we tried to discuss about different circumstances of our project. Arduino software is an open source physical computing platform for creating interactive objects that collaborate with software on your computer. This software was designed for artists, designers, and others who want to incorporate physical computing into their designs.

Blynk app is a Platform with iOS and Android apps to controlled Arduino, Raspberry Pi and likes over the Internet process. This process is a digital dashboard where you can build a graphic interface for your project by simply dragging and dropping widgets.

2.2 Related Works

There are several systems related to our system. Here light and door controlled by apps using wifi. Connect the Arduino with wifi and Wifi connect with this apps. Then we can locally(LAN) and remotely manage and controll the system. When people thinking about home automation system, then most of them may conceive living in a smart home: remote controller for every household appliance, cooking the rice automatically, starting air conditioner automatically controlled, heating water for bath automatically. To some extent home automation process equals to smart home. They are both bring out smart living condition and make our life more convenient and fast.

First Blynk app open CITATION Man19 l 1033 [1] in figure 2.1.

Figure 2.1: project create

Features:

Need to login for full feature

Generate Blynk Auth token code

Online Arduino items list

Project create to my apps

Problems:

Wifi connection must needed

Don’t provide all in one application system

Not so much enough power

Some security issues

Second Arduino Software Open CITATION BDA19 l 1033 [2] in figure 2.2.

Figure 2.2: Arduino Software

Features:

Automated all process

Blynk project related coding system

Some libraries & tools installed

Codes running serial monitor

Problems:

Blynk Auth token code must need

All libraries & tools must installed

Wifi connection must needed

11430028575000Blynk project create system: figure2.1.1

231457535553650011430035458400

Fig: project create system

2.3 Comparative Studies

The device which we use in home automation are associate to ADK(Android Development Kit). The establishment of the connection between the Android device and ADK(Android Development Kit). The links into the ports as input/output of the board. Then it pass to the ADK(Android Development Kit). The USB host connection associated with Android Phone. Arduino software is use to do this process. It is capable of maintaining the system, set up and configuration. The system is better than the commercially home automation system because of the scalability and flexibility point of view. This application has been installed on a Android smartphone. Hardware interface modules are connected with sensors and actuators. It through to the direct wire connections. The hardware interface module has capable to control energy management system. The proposed system can control the following appliance:

(1) Lights On/Off

(2) Fan On/Off

(3) Door Lock/Unlock

2.4 Scope of the Project

Day by day, the field of automation is blooming and these systems are having great impact on human beings. The project which is to be implemented is a home Automation using Arduino software and Blynk app with Wifi and has very good future development.

In the current system Arduino software is installed on a windows PC so the home appliances can be controlled using only by using the device on which Blynk app is installed. This can be further developed installing Arduino and Blynk app.

2.5 Challenges

(1) Reliability: For successful home automation, the developer consideration of regarding the sensible device which ancient home appliances and equipment.

(2) Use: How it uses appropriately, it also the challenge of crate this type of system.

(3) Data transformation and integration: It is difficult. The software tools which provides are interact with particular products. It connects to devices from other manufacturers.

(4) Liability: Give the solution to smart device problems. Then it updates and patches.

SMART HOME: WI-FI BASED HOME AUTOMATION SYSTEM by Md. Rakibul Islam Rabbi ID: 153-15-6599 Md.
