The ACA, which was passed in 2010, aimed to increase access to health insurance coverage for low-income and underserved populations. The ACA was heavily influenced by research on the negative health consequences of lack of insurance coverage and the benefits of expanding access to health care.<\/p>\n
As an advanced practice nurse, my future role in advocating for equitable population health services and policies will involve utilizing evidence-based practice and research to inform my advocacy efforts.
