The leadership of individuals such as Abraham Lincoln and Margaret Thatcher has been studied and discussed repeatedly.<br \/>\nHowever, you may have interacted with leaders you feel demonstrated equally competent leadership without ever having a book written<br \/>\nabout their approaches.<br \/>\nWhat makes great leaders great? Every leader is different, of course, but one area of commonality is the leadership philosophy that great<br \/>\nleaders develop and practice. A leadership philosophy is basically an attitude held by leaders that acts as a guiding principle for their<br \/>\nbehavior. While formal theories on leadership continue to evolve over time, great leaders seem to adhere to an overarching philosophy<br \/>\nthat steers their actions.<br \/>\nWhat is your leadership philosophy? It is a personal and individual approach to leadership that is unique to each leader. They serve as the foundation for a leader&#8217;s leadership philosophy and provide a framework for how they operate and interact with others. Here are some common core values in leadership philosophy:<\/p>\n<p>Integrity: A leader with integrity is honest, trustworthy, and ethical. They hold themselves accountable for their actions and decisions and follow through on their commitments.<\/p>\n<p>Respect: A leader who values respect treats others with dignity, fairness, and kindness. They create an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone feels valued and heard.<\/p>\n<p>Vision: A leader with a clear vision inspires and motivates others. They have a strong sense of purpose and direction and are able to communicate their vision effectively to others.<\/p>\n<p>Courage: A leader with courage is willing to take risks, make difficult decisions, and stand up for what they believe in, even in the face of adversity.<\/p>\n<p>Empathy: A leader who values empathy is able to put themselves in other people&#8217;s shoes and understand their perspectives and emotions.
